Jeff was born and raised in the 5th Ward of Davenport the middle child of a family of seven. His parents, Robert and JoAnn raised their family with strong values and a sense of pride in the community. His brothers John, Jay, and Joel, and sisters, Janet (Potter) and Jennifer still reside in the area while Jerry lives on the east coast. Jeff has been married to his wife Susan since 1994.
Jeff attended St. Pauls, Garfield, Sudlow, and Central High School, graduating in 1978. After entering the workforce, Jeff attended night school where he met the love of his life. Jeff graduated with honors in 2000 from St. Ambrose University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. Jeff received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 2003, and was selected to the Betta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
Jeff has worked at MidAmerican Energy Company for 27 years. He began his career as an electrical substation helper and later became a journeyman electrician. Upon entering management, Jeff has held numerous leadership positions including safety and apprenticeship supervisor, gas and electric operations supervisor, and is presently Manager of Performance Support.
Jeff has been active in the community most of his life. Past and present affiliations include Junior Achievement, United Way, Knights of Columbus, Cornbelt Running Club, DavenportOne and Bettendorf Chamber, and currently a board position with the Davenport Kiwanis.
